Sonamphibia

Sonamphibia explores a collaborative form of sound and choreographic experiments at the confluence of land (air) and water. Playfully manipulating sonorous objects submerged or floating in-on the amplified water, performers negotiate and navigate constantly shifting elements – liquid and sound. Sauvage expands her long-time hydrophonic musical practice in hopes of creating an amphibious play area for all – a wet gathering point where sensory experiences shape an intimate connection to collective imaginaries.

The project was commissioned by Coastal Futures (Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology) made in collaboration with École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy and presented as a video documentation of a performance with students following a 3-day workshop.
